#1: Bounty White paper towels are better than rags.
#2: Cheap, plain dishwashing liquid is a great brush cleaner, and easier on your hands than lava soap. I squirt some on the back of one of those scrubby sponges and it really does the job.
I'm sure there are more; I'll have to think. In the meantime, maybe I'll frame the paper towel.
